Deap Valley

I haven't posted in like nearly a week. I do apologise, but here, I have something to make up for my absence. They're called Deap Valley.

Deap Valley is an all girl U.S rock duo who are bringing back being real female rockstars like Courtney Love and The Runaways. Their image is bad ass, their music even cooler and the fact they play their own instruments, write their own lyrics, party like crazy and still look stunning is sexy as hell.

iamamiwhoami

I am.
Am I?
Who am I ?

Is a Swedish project run buy curiously stunning front woman Joanna Lee and talented multi instrumentalist Claes Bjorklund. The singer and face of iamamiwhoami is almost like a swedish ladygaga/Lana del rey, yet, incomparable in her unique, experimental, musical ways.

You see lady gaga is outrageous for the gasps and reactions wear as iamamiwhoami is just downright weird. And by weird I don't mean crazy cat lady in a cowboy hat weird I mean intriguing weird like Alice in wonderland. Strange, different, leaving you curious for more.

The actual music is quite mellow, it's like an ambient electro dreamy synth pop. However, what gets the group their viral hits is the crazy visuals in the music videos. The music videos may look bizzare, but when looked further into are actually truly artistic. check more of their videos out which almost always have a deeper meaning or representation behind it with a thought provoking titles like "y" with an added numeric code which when indexed into the alphabet, these spell out words such as "educational", "I am", "its me", "mandragora", "officinarum", and "welcome home". Clever.

Me Like Bees

Here is another very cool yet underrated band. The indie/alt rock quartet are a rad group of guys from Joplin, Missouri called Me Like Bees.  They are currently gigging around Oklahoma, Kansas, Arizona and of course their home town Missouri.

The guys deserve way more cred having shared the stage with Pop punk bands like Man Overboard and Never Shout Never (A.k.a that cute lead singer Christopher Drew and the other guys.) But dont worry, I'm sure as time passes by there will be a lot more buzz about them. haha see what I did there? But yeah check them out they're really cool and gritty which goes with the whole lumberjack bearded singer look. Click here for the bandsite and here for their new official music video which has a nice vintage feel to the visuals.

Pocono

Yes.

I've done it once again.

Out of my never ending web browsing, going on youtube clicking one link, then another, then another, I've found a new awesome indie band that I can guarantee none of your friends have heard of and predict will be really popular in the future. Oh yeah. I have found yet another "I knew about them before they were famous" type bands. Pocono.

These guys are so underrated it almost hurts. Take a listen of the single above "Candlelight", soak up all the goodness and cry over the fact that it only has 3,000 views despite it being released at the beginning of 2013.

Nashville, Tennessee should be proud to of produced such rhythmical geniuses, I mean all of their godamn songs makes me wanna get my groove on. And that falsetto. Oh that falsetto the lead singer carries it's not fair a grown man can hit higher notes than I can.

So check them out (Click here for their tumblr) , keep an eye on them  get their songs on spotify and watch that space when they get real popular in the next couple of years.

The Ramona Flowers

I am a massive Scott pilgrim vs the world fan. It was my favourite film for a very long time. So one day I'm watching old bloopers for the film laughing away when I find this band. The Ramona Flowers. If you haven't watched Scott Pilgrim before Ramona Flowers is the girl Scott is dating and fights her seven evil ex boyfriends (and girlfriend) for her love. Anyway -back to the band-  the band manage to combine accurate lyrics with beautiful guitar riffs and a soft male soprano (temper trapesque) lead singer.

They're another really talented British band who I can easily see them making it into the charts. If you haven't checked out their video up top "Lust and Lies" do it now, the music video is tear jerking and as thought provoking as this music video of theirs "Dismantle and rebuild" which has more of a Dubstep feel on the baseline and goes slightly Bastille at the chorus. Even if you don't like their music, the visuals in the music video are breathtaking. Defenaitley check it out.

Theese two songs are currently available on Spotify and their new album "Brighter" is out...tomorrow. Oh and would you look at that it turns out they actually were a support band for Bastille on tour. Fancy what you find when you do your research.
